Meet Our Executive Committee:
Rick Kaye - Rick is the Education and Outreach Manager for the Sotoyome Resource Conservation District. He has had extensive experience with administration and board development for non-profit organizations since 1993, and is a skilled fund developer and contract manager. Rick is a former Peace Corps Agroforestry Volunteer, serving in Panama from 1997-2000. While there he learned about applied composting techniques, then spearheaded a training program to demonstrate and teach subsistence farmers a variety of composting and sustainable farming techniques. He established the West Side School Volunteer Recycling Program in 2003, and is co-founder of The Compost Club. He is a graduate from UC Davis in 1986, with a major in Psychology.
Paul Kaiser - Paul is a former Peace Corps Volunteer who served for over 3 years in The Gambia, West Africa.  He worked with several rural agrarian communities to develop sustainable land use management systems that incorporated multi-purpose trees into the farm fields and gardens for soil replenishment and protection, biodiversity promotion, and household products such as fuelwood, timber, fruits, leaves, animal fodder, etc.  Since then, Paul has received dual Masters Degrees in Natural Resources Management and Sustainable Development from the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica and the American University in Washington D.C.  He has worked with wood for most of his life and has been an accomplished furniture maker since 2002. He owns and operates Woodworking By Paul.
Andrew Sloan - Andrew graduated from The Hutchins School at Sonoma State in May. He held the position of Environmental Affairs Director for the Associated Student Body, and has been instrumental in Project Compost!, a student led effort to plan, build administrative support, then implement food waste composting on campus. Since graduating, Andrew has taken the position of Recycling and Outreach Coordinator for North Bay Corporation.
